Get Excited: Ireland’s Got An International Crime Writing Festival On The Way

So I was scrolling through Instagram yesterday, as I do for hours most days, and I came across a very exciting post from writing.ie.

That’s right, Ireland is getting it’s very own International Crime Writing Festival in November 2018.excited-giphy

Murder One is the brainchild of Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin, founder of writing.ie and real face behind Sam Blake’s Cath Connolly crime series, and Bert Wright, curator of Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival, Bram Stoker Festival, and currently The Dublin Festival of History. Definitely a duo that can put on a good literary show.

Ireland has had crime writing events before. Malahide’s Something Wicked Festival has been an interesting mix of crime writers and real life forensics for the last couple of years. And last year’s Dead In Dun Laoghaire Festival brought Paula Hawkins to our shores.

But Murder One promises Irish and international crime writers from thrillers to spy fiction as well as TV and film. And it’s all being held in Smock Alley, which is one of the most beautiful venues in Dublin and we all know it.

Basically I’m ridiculously excited about this, and so should you be!

If you want to find out more follow the festival on Twitter @MurderOneFest, Instagram @murderonefest, Facebook @M1CrimeWritingFestival, or on their website .

I’ll see you all there!
